Wikio Experts pay you to publish articles on a variety of subjects. The earning potential is encouraging as there are two ways to earn revenue; through page views or as a fixed rate. Each article that you write will have a corresponding value from € 2.50 to € 5. After publishing 10 articles in the same category/sub category, you will be confirmed as an expert in that subject area and will have access to higher paying or €8 articles.
To sign up as a writer for the site, a test article should be written in any of the categories you are interested in writing. Wikio categories include beauty and wellbeing, cooking and food, culture, economics and finance, travel, health and medicine to name a few. Each category has sub- domains. For example, under family and relationships, specific categories are adolescence, sexuality, dating, marriage, elderly citizens and so on. In effect, there are plenty of writing categories which could be of interest to an author. Once an article is approved and published, you can claim titles on the "marketplace". The claimed article should be written within 72 hours or else it will be released into the pool of articles. If you decide not to write the article, you can put it back in the "marketplace".
Writing for Wikio is never boring because there are really a lot of titles to choose from. The articles are geared for SEO but Wikio only asks for 3 keywords to be included in the article. The dashboard though will provide at least 10 keywords so there are ways to incorporate these into the articles without constructing awkward sentences.
The editors are not rude and there are not a lot of rewrites. I had an article returned once for minor corrections but other than this incident, articles I submitted for moderation were published within a few hours or a few days.
The forum on the site also works well. The staff is always prompt in responding to questions on submissions, payment issues, and glitches.
How to Get Paid
Wikio pays through Paypal. At the end of each month, the revenue/royalties (pageviews)are updated. The "ask for payment" button will be activated once your account reaches €50. Make sure that you have already signed the contract.
The downside to this is that payments are processed once a month. So if you earn €50 in May, you have to request payment between June 1 to June 15. The money will be in your account during the first week of July. Wikio is still working on the possibility of increasing the frequency of payments. I am looking forward to this as under the present set-up, I have to wait for my earnings a month after.
