Accepted at Populis Create

While I was busy at Wikio, I also submitted an application to Populis Create. I just sent them a link to one of my published articles. Imagine my surprise when I received the acceptance letter and the log in details.

Now, I'm the type who tend to concentrate on one site because for me it takes time to learn the style of writing required plus I'm not a fast writer.

Wikio was disappointing because of their rev-share policy only once they switch to the Overblog site. I will still check the revamped site to see if changes are interesting even for passive income. Most of the articles I've written for them are on upfront payment so there's very little chance that I will get a lot, if at all. Offhand though, the earnings in cents that I got from Wikio are higher than what I get from another rev-share site.

Since I was not really interested in this type of payment, I decided to switch to PC. Even when I was writing for Wikio, I would check my dashboard to see if there are any titles at PC. And, there always were. The problem is, I am a slow writer so there is no way I could do an article for 1 hour including the research. Besides, I still had to study the guideline of PC and between chasing my €5 articles and meeting the deadlines, I never got round to it.

Wikio's decision to switch to rev-share just made the decision for me. I started to write for PC and it was not easy to find myself around since everything was unknown.

How it works:

You choose from titles where you are confirmed. The dashboard will show this in the form of available assignments. PC assigns you to categories and I really don't know how this was done.

Written articles should contain the keywords given in the title that you have to create yourself, abstract, and body. These keywords must be mentioned 2x in the main text.

A photo needs to be added in specific dimensions, 355 x 120 and you have to put tags and categorise your article.

Areas that you can write about:

Entertainment
Video
Travel
Music
Sports Scene
Digital Edge
Fashion Junkie
Weather
Travel
Jobs

Rate: €6 per approved article as of 04/10/11 (used to be €6.66)

Payment: Weekly, usually Tuesday morning.

Delivery: 96 hours

Comment:

I like writing here and I think you can make decent money provided your articles are reviewed and approved quickly. I had 2 or 3 articles that sat in my queue for 2 weeks. I did not email support because I could see them in my submitted list. Eventually, they all cleared. Payments were always on time (at least since I started).

Update:

The site is experiencing "glitches" in their system. A lot of writers have lost their positions lately. Even authors who have already produced tons of articles were deactivated. I am quite new with them so I do not know what my chances are. Probably zero. My next post would be something like, booted from Populis Create.

When I started I could only claim 5 articles at a time including those submitted and in draft. Or maybe, I just thought I could only take 5.

This ceiling was raised to 20 with the usual 96 hour delivery time. However, today it seems that this cap is brought down to 5 again inclusive of submitted and returned articles. They are tightening on the quality of the articles they publish and there were (in their words), "abnormalities" last month. As such, they are reviewing all articles submitted and approved in September.

Assignments are available at the start of the week according to the latest news.
